Where the funds will go 

• $3,200 will go to Foundation Group to assist me in starting the non profit.
• $2,000 will go to produce merchandise with designs that I have custom made.

*Please note, 100% of all proceeds will serve as donations and will go to Planted with Purpose's cause.*

• The remaining $3,800 would be put towards developing fun, comprehensive learning material to coincide with the sustainable gardens. I plan to do this by meeting with professionals in specified areas to develop learning material and a guide on how to run these gardens as efficiently and as effectively as possible. When they are developed I would then like to produce hard copies of them to give out to the people and communities we will help. I would like to use other funds for marketing and other miscellaneous assets to make the non profit run effectively.

If my goal is not met, I will put all of the funds I do have into working with Foundation Group and move on from there.  

The Impact

By using sustainable farming practices, keeping our food local, supplying all necessary tools, and empowering our communities with the knowledge to grow their own food, we help to build sustainable places to live and go to school, help mitigate climate change, be a part in eradicating environmental injustice, and will help rebuild how we think about food. Planted with Purpose will focus on sustainable farming practices- primarily, hydroponics, composting, and water harvesting. Hydroponics are an urban farming practice that can be utilized in indoor and outdoor spaces, they use significantly less water than traditional farming, require significantly less space, require no pesticides, very little soil and produce higher crop yields in less time. Hydroponic systems work by submerging roots into a nutrient rich water solution. By making gardens highly accessible, we can, in turn, offer our community access to nutritious food at little to no cost to them. It will offer a fun and different environment to learn all subjects, along with the power and knowledge of knowing how to sustain ourselves. By doing this, we are promising ourselves a more sustainable future and instilling an inherent value in it. Something that matters, something that makes a difference, and something that can be passed down for generations, allowing it to become the new normal.

By putting programs and tools like this in place we can target food apartheids and get a head start in rebuilding our food system.
